Bor holds off the chase pack to claim the open men's title at the 2023 USATF Cross Country Championships...what a gutsy race!

By 9 km, Bor's lead shrunk to 9 seconds, with a chase pack of 8 men working together to close the gap

Bor continued to grow his lead over the next 1000m, passing through 7 km 11 seconds ahead of the field, then 12 seconds ahead of the chase pack through 8 km.

Emmanuel Bor passed through the half way point in the lead, coming through 5 km in 14:23, a couple seconds ahead of the chase pack, that shrank down to 12 men.

Just before 8 km, Kurgat put in a massive surge in pace, breaking up the top pack and by 9 km she has a 12 second lead over the rest of the field

At 7k, the pack of six women (Durgin, Kelati, Morley, Kurgat, Izzo, and Lapari have a 20 second lead over the rest of the field. With six spots on the line for Team USATF at the World Athletics Cross Country Championships next month, this seems to be your team...but there is still 3k to go!
