Weini Kelati, representing Under Armour Dark Sky Distance team, placed second in 34:18 in the women's open 10-kilometer race at the USATF Cross Country Championships, presented by Toyota, at Mission Bay Park in San Diego. Kelati, 25, was making her debut in a U.S. national cross country final after earning her Amerian citizenship in June. She raced in San Diego for the first time since winning the Mountain West Conference cross country title for New Mexico in 2018. Kelati also won the Foot Locker national cross country title in San Diego in 2015.
